Carl Sagan - 'A Glorious Dawn' ft Stephen Hawking (Cosmos Remixed)

It's clunky and awkward, but somehow, 99% of all popular music is diminished.

The Very Best (Esau Mwamwaya & Radioclit)

Simply amazing "bootleg" album that I urge you to download right now. This is Salota, but really, I could have used any song from the album. Great mix of African and Western music/sensibility. This is a similar kind of thing to Damon Albarn's Mali Music, but  comes from the African perspective rather than the European.

Funeral Mist

A frenzied sermon put to black metal. I can't stop playing it. Blessed Curse from the album Maranatha.

Pale Young Gentlemen

Another cover. I just can't help myself. I hold the irony in so much that it has to escape somewhere.
This is a great version of M.I.A.s Paper Planes. Can't find any artwork to go with this.

Portishead

Although this album (Third) came out a while back, I didn't give it a second thought - Trip Hop is so boring - It's like listening to your Mum's record collection. Kenny had it on in the studio yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised by this track . I'm a sucker for a song with a skronking trumpet, even if it's just been cut and pasted into the song like a little rap in a pop song. The album is all pretty listenable. Kind of like a light jazzy pop album. Sounds like I'm damning it with faint praise, but I'll probably buy it.

Damon Albarn and Michael Nyman

From the Ravenous Soundtrack. Boyd's Journey is my favorite. Damon Albarn and Michael Nyman - who'd have thought. There are some nice songs so it's worth hunting down. I'll check out the movie too: a comedy about cannibals.
